What Is Market Replay?
Market Replay is built right into Tradovate Trader. It plays back a historical session as if it were happening live, full market depth, real order tickets, the works. You pick a past date and time, decide how fast the clock should tick, and then trade over that data using the same DOM, charts, and order entry you'd use in a real session.

Launch Market Replay in Tradovate: Step by Step
Open Market Replay
Log in to Tradovate Trader, then open the account/application menu and choose the option to access Market Replay. That opens the replay setup screen, where you'll define the session before it starts.
Set Your Replay Parameters
The setup screen is where you tell the replay what to load. Fill in the start date and time you want playback to begin from, the rate at which time passes (how fast the market replays), your starting balance for the session, and which account and layout to use.
Start the Replay Session
Once your parameters look right, click Start Replay. Tradovate loads the Trader app at the exact date, time, balance, and speed you selected, and the market starts streaming forward from that historical moment.
Control Playback From the Header
Look up at the platform header, a replay control shows the current replay time and the speed it's running at. Click its dropdown to pause, dial the playback speed up or down, check the exact date and time you're viewing, or close out and exit the replay when you're done.
Place Practice Trades Over Historical Data
With the session running, trade exactly like you would live, buy, sell, and manage brackets from the SuperDOM, the chart, or an order ticket. Your fills happen against the replayed market, so you're rehearsing entries, stops, and targets on genuine price action. Blew the trade? Reset and run the same window again.
