If you're juggling a couple of prop evaluations plus your own funded account, logging out and back in all day gets old fast. You don't have to. Every account you have access to sits under a single Tradovate login, and the platform ships with a free tool that can fire the same order into all of them at once.

This guide covers two things: switching between accounts with a click, and grouping several accounts so one order trades them together.

How Accounts Stack Under One Login

When you log in, Tradovate shows every account you can reach, a personal account, a simulated account, and any prop evaluation or funded accounts your firm has attached. There's no separate "add account" step for most of these; a prop firm links them to your login when you buy or pass an evaluation. One caveat matters later: accounts only play together if they live with the same brokerage provider.

Switch Between Your Accounts and Trade Them as a Group

1

Open the Accounts Dropdown

At the top of the platform, open the Accounts dropdown. It lists every account under your login, so you never have to sign out to reach another one.

2

Pick the Account You Want to Trade

Click an account to make it active. From that point, the DOM, chart order entry, Orders, and Positions all point at the account you selected. Your layouts and settings stay put as you jump between them.

3

Open the Group Editor

Switching one at a time is fine for two accounts. Once you're running more than that, Tradovate's built-in Group Trade lets you send a single order to a whole set of accounts, and it's free. Open the Accounts dropdown again and choose Manage Groups. That opens the group editor, where you build and save as many groups as you want.

4

Create and Name a Group

Click the + button to start a new group and give it a name you'll recognize on a busy day, something like "Apex evals" or "Live set." Clear names save you from routing an order to the wrong pile of accounts.

5

Add Accounts and Set Each Quantity

Drag the accounts you want from the list into your new group. Each account gets its own Qty value. Set every account to 1 and the group behaves predictably: the order splits evenly. Bump an account's Qty higher only if you want it to carry more size than the rest.

6

Select the Group and Place Your Order

Save the group, then pick it from the Accounts dropdown just like you'd pick a single account. With a group active, the DOM and chart show the group's aggregated position, and Orders and Positions for every member show inside the platform. Here's the one rule that trips people up: your order quantity has to be a multiple of the group's total quantity.

Say you have three accounts, each set to Qty 1 (total = 3). The order size you type controls how many contracts land in each account:

You enter Each account gets
31 contract
62 contracts
93 contracts

Enter a number that isn't a multiple of the total and the order won't distribute cleanly, so keep the math in mind before you click Buy or Sell.

A Few Things to Watch

  • Same provider only. A group can only combine accounts from one brokerage provider. A direct Tradovate brokerage account and a prop evaluation account can't share a group, but two accounts from the same source can.
  • No bracket/ATM strategies in a group. Group Trade doesn't carry ATM bracket orders across accounts, so plan to manage stops and targets on each account or handle exits manually.
  • Mind the quantity rule. Always enter a multiple of the group total, or the split won't work as expected.
  • Account counts vary. How many evaluation or funded accounts you can run at once depends on your prop firm and account size, check your firm's current rules before scaling up.
