Alpha Futures rules explained
10 answersCan I use bots or automated trading at Alpha Futures?
No. Alpha Futures' Prohibited Trading Practices page says "The use of AI, bots, and other automated trading mechanisms is strictly prohibited across all account types." Semi-automation is allowed only in a narrow form: a custom indicator that gives buy or sell signals is fine if you manually place, monitor and manage the trade. Alpha also says it is "not interested in working with strategies taking 100+ trades per day, automated or not." Any hands-off, continuous day-and-night trading or other full automation is strictly forbidden.
Can I copy trade my Alpha Futures accounts, and can I use a third-party copier?
Copying between your own accounts is allowed. Alpha Futures' copy trading article says it "is permitted as long as it is a single user executing the trades," and that user must be the individual listed on the accounts. Automated, group and reverse trading stay prohibited. Alpha suggests using your smallest account as the leader, because accounts with different leverage or buying power may not copy, and it is "not liable or able to fix any issues" caused by copier software. The help center does not list which third-party copiers, if any, connect to its platforms, so confirm with support before buying one.
Can Alpha Futures deny a payout because of an old accidental hedge on an evaluation?
Alpha's written rules allow it. Its Prohibited Trading Practices page bans "Reverse Trading" or hedging, "going short on one account, and long on the other," in both Evaluation and Qualified phases, and names long NQ against short MNQ on one account as an example. On violations it says "Profits generated from prohibited trading practices will be void" and "All passed Evaluations are subject to review." The page sets no time limit on that review and makes no exception for accidental hedges. Before entering on one account, check that none of your other accounts, including evaluations, holds the opposite position.
How does Alpha Futures' consistency rule work, and does it reset after a payout request?
It depends on the account type. On Alpha Futures evaluations, one day's profit cannot exceed 40% of net profit on Advanced or 50% on Standard, and Zero Evaluations have no consistency rule. On Qualified accounts, Zero and Standard use 40%, Direct uses 20%, and Advanced has none. For Qualified accounts the rule "resets in between each account withdrawal request," so your biggest day is measured against net profit since your last request. Going over does not breach the account; you keep trading until the ratio falls below the limit.
How often can I get paid at Alpha Futures, and how much can I withdraw?
On Standard, Advanced and Zero Qualified accounts you can request a withdrawal every 5 winning days of $200 or more, up to 4 times a month, and the days need not be consecutive. Alpha Futures' payout policy lets each request be up to 50% of account profit within your account's cap, and you receive 90% of the request. Minimums are $1,000 on Advanced (maximum $15,000), $500 on Standard and $200 on Zero. Direct accounts skip the winning-day rule but need a withdrawal profit target and 20% consistency. The help center does not state a payout processing time.
Can I trade news at Alpha Futures?
It depends on the account. Alpha Futures' news trading policy has no restrictions on any Evaluation account or on Advanced Qualified accounts. On Direct, Standard and Zero Qualified accounts you may hold through releases, but "no orders may be executed within 2 minutes before or 2 minutes after high impact news events," using red-folder events on the ForexFactory calendar for the asset you trade. A first violation is a warning, with profits from those trades voided and the payout denied; later violations breach the account.
Is Alpha Futures' drawdown trailing intraday or end of day?
End of day. Alpha Futures says its Maximum Loss Limit (MLL) is EOD trailing on all accounts and none use intraday trailing drawdown. The MLL trails your end-of-day balance high and stops at the starting balance: on a 50K Zero account it starts at $48,000 and becomes $50,000 once your EOD balance reaches $52,000. It is still enforced live, and breaking it "at any point, floating equity or closed balance" liquidates the account. Zero accounts also have a 2% Daily Loss Guard that only locks you out until the next session.
What is Alpha Futures' tick scalping rule, and can short trades get my payout denied?
Alpha Futures prohibits "Tick or Micro Scalping," defined as trades of less than 10 ticks and less than 2 minutes, so a trade must fail both tests to count. Its Prohibited Trading Practices page says there is no must-hold-past-X-minutes rule and it is an issue only "when it is a clear pattern in the trader's profit," such as consistently opening and closing positions under 2 minutes without a plan, or closing max-leverage positions quickly for favorable fills. Profits from prohibited practices are voided, which can reduce or deny a payout.
Can I reset an Alpha Futures evaluation or a breached Qualified account?
Yes for evaluations, and sometimes for Qualified accounts. Alpha Futures' reset page says you can buy an Evaluation Reset from your dashboard at any point during the subscription, starting at $79 depending on account size, and it does not change your monthly rebill date. Qualified Resets exist only on Zero and Standard accounts: you can use one up to 2 times on an account that has never reached a payout request, within 7 days of the breach. Qualified Reset prices run from $399 (25K Zero) to $999 (150K Standard).
Can I use a VPS or VPN at Alpha Futures?
A VPS yes, a VPN no. Alpha Futures' Prohibited Trading Practices page says "The use of VPS is permitted in your trading, however the use of VPN attempting to hide or change you IP address is not." A VPS does not loosen the automation rule: AI, bots and other automated trading mechanisms remain prohibited across all account types, so a VPS can host your platform but not a bot. Alpha's maximum allocation page also allows only one username per individual and one individual per household.
